Hello World
The default post made by the theme. Turns out, I can use it as an introductory post.
Why do I need a blog site? I want
- to share my thoughts.
- an archive of my notes. Any questions?
What if nobody reads your blogs? And why not use obsidian?
Second question first. I do use obsidian. And the blog isn’t just about backup, although that is a benefit. I believe the primary and secondary sources for anything should be separate, just like how computer memories work. Therefore I note everything in three layers, keeping it simple. (how is three layers simple? Read on.)
- The tiny whiteboard on my table - working in parallel means I have to divide my tasks into smaller ones, and once the current task is dealt with, the next should be ready. That is what I write on the board, what I hope to achieve in a day. I also use it as something I want in front of my eyes and not hidden in an
.mdnote somewhere. - Obsidian - I use it as a scratchpad, temporary records, AI agent outputs and things I don’t want to publish here, not because they’re private, which some of them may be, but because it would not add any value for you or this page. The classification shared above is a wide net, but some outlier notes may not be a part of any of them.
- This page - My thoughts and observations, turned to conclusions. I have a section in my obsidian dedicated to this right now, which I will slowly migrate here. This is all I have to say for the blog right now. Since the last two are being used by me from some time, I had experiences to say. Nothing more for this.
Now to the first question. If nobody reads it, that’s fine. I plan to reach to a point where people do read them, but that is not a goal. If people start to know me, they read me, simple.
There is definitely the issue of editability. I frequently edited my notes in obsidian. Will I be able to do that here? What impact will that have on RSS readers? Seems like we will see and learn.
Yeah, that was why I needed this. I plan to keep this blog AI-free, and I can only plan, since nobody knows what the future holds. Maybe writing by hand (and even dictating) is a stigma in a few years. Just to let you know, although I don’t like classifying or being classified as pro/anti, but I am a pro-AI guy.
